The funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) will enable Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) to scale-up access to comprehensive sexual reproductive health and rights for women and girls in Zimbabwe.

The programme will continue to provide a rights-based, comprehensive choice of reproductive and maternal health services to over one million women, girls and their families in Zimbabwe over the next three years.

The First Lady of Zimbabwe, her Excellency Mrs Auxillia Mnangagwa praised our programme Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) for its contribution to women's sexual health in a speech this week at the inauguration of a three-year project between PSZ and SIDA. The politician and First Lady said:

“I am reliably informed that despite uncertain funding, amongst other challenges, in 2017, more than 403,000 women received a contraceptive method from PSZ.

"I used to come to PSZ clinic before I became first Lady. I am familiar with you, what you are doing and I’m always in support of your mission and the program that you are running in Zimbabwe, that is why I am here with you today.

Sofia Calltorp, Swedish Ambassador in Zimbabwe added“There is no other organisation than PSZ in Zimbabwe that deeply understands the health needs of women and girls. That is the reason why we chose PSZ to work with.

Her Excellency also paid a visit to one of  along with the honourable Minister of Health, the Swedish Ambassador for Zimbabwe, high officials from different ministries, as well NGO and CSO leaders.
